Street Doctors’ training

A specialist team of Street Doctors visited The Skills Hub and spoke to students about what to do in an emergency first aid situation.

The street doctors focused on superficial wounds and more complex problems such as heart attacks and strokes.

School-age children are generally at higher risk of being involved in accidents and sustaining injuries. Although many of these injuries are likely to be relatively minor, in some cases a child or young person could sustain a serious or life-threatening injury on school premises.

After a Street Doctors training session…

95% of young people say they understand the consequences of violence

93% of young people say they know what to do if someone is bleeding

84% of young people say they are willing and able to act in a first aid emergency

The Skills Hub has been the best thing that has happened to my son; the support and kindness you have all shown him and I, is second to none, no judgment, no prejudice, just pure empathy, understanding and upmost support and for that I am eternally grateful.
