Key Stage 4

Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & 11) Pathways

At The Skills Hub we teach Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & 11) as one group. However, within this group there are specific pathways that meet the needs of individual students joining The Skills Hub. The KS4 pathways intend to ensure that all students choose subjects and options that will set them up for life after school and next career steps.

There are three pathways in Key Stage 4: Orwell, Fleming and Wilberforce.

All students joining the Skills Hub will undergo initial baseline assessments during their Induction Week. These assessments help us to identify the most appropriate Pathway for each student and can highlight any unidentified special educational needs.

All students regardless of pathway have an opportunity to return to a mainstream setting unless they arrive after the Autumn Term in year 11

All pathways have at least 1 PSHE/RSE and PE lesson per week to enhance their personal development, behaviour and attitudes

All pathways are not exclusive or limited to the above qualifications outlined in each pathway. In some cases a bespoke curriculum that compliments each separate pathway can be designed to meet the individual needs of the student. All students have the opportunity to achieve outcomes and qualifications that include GCSE, Functional Skills and Unit Awards regardless of their pathway.
