Sailing for DofE Award
As part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, some of our students have been learning how to sail at Queen Mary Sailing Club. There first session took place on a beautiful crisp day at the beginning of March. There wasn’t much wind but it was a perfect introduction to the boats and being on the water.
To gain the Duke of Edinburgh award, the students will need to take part in a sport, learn a new skill, undertake volunteering work and go on an overnight expedition which involves map reading in the countryside and camping overnight.
