#Build the Future

Courtney is a Customer Service Apprentice at The Skills Hub and to mark National Apprenticeship Week 2022 we are celebrating apprentices across Orchard Hill College Academy Trust and the work they do. Courtney is based in the school office and loves what she does:

“I’m really happy being in the school office and I love working with the students. Apprenticeships are a great way to learn as you are doing the job.

At first I was really nervous about speaking to parents; I would practice what I was going to say before I called them. Now I feel confident to pick up the phone, answer emails and talk to people. I have also learnt to listen and hear what other people are saying.

Every one of the staff plays a role in supporting the young people in one way or another. I would definitely recommend the apprentice route and hope that I can continue to work here after I finish my apprenticeship.”

Shahena Tarapdar, Courtney’s Line Manager at The Skills Hubs said:

“Courtney has been a brilliant addition the Administration Team. She is extremely hard working, reliable and is always willing to help visitors, students and the staff team.

As an ex TSH pupil, she has been a great example to the current students of what can be achieved if they just believe and put their mind to it!

We are very proud of her completing her apprenticeship with us.”

Thank you, and God bless you for all the work you have done with my son. It feels like I have my son back.
