Jeans for Genes fundraiser
On Friday 23rd September The Skills Hub held a charity event to raise money for the charity Jeans for Genes. Students and staff wore jeans, denim or the colour blue and made contribution towards this good cause. Overall we were pleased to raise £40.65 which will be used by the charity to fund further research into genetic diseases like muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anaemia.
Life-altering genetic disorders affect around half a million children in the UK, money raised will be used to provide funds to groups and schools to support children and young people with genetic disorders. Staff and students enjoyed the day wearing their jeans and raising money for such a great cause.
