25 Years of Service
This week, staff and students were delighted to celebrate 25 years’ of service of one of their members of staff, Allison Rowland, Lead Learning Support Assistant and Jack Petchey Coordinator. Allison joined what was previously known as the Hillingdon Tuition Centre in 1998 and has worked continuously at the school through various name changes to be the longest serving member of staff at The Skills Hub.
Staff surprised Allison before the school day started on Wednesday 10th May with flowers, gifts, cakes and a specially engraved plaque to mark her long service to the school.
Principal Paul Chambers, paid tribute to Allison’s dedication, commitment and attention to detail. He said, “In the context of the recent coronation and King Charles’ focus on commitment and service, at the Skills Hub in Allison we have a true exemplar of what commitment and service means.”
Other members of staff shared memories and thanked Allison for the support she had shown them over the years. One colleague thanked her for always being by their side and another described Allison’s dedication and how if she said she was going to do something, she always would, even if it meant staying late.
Deputy CEO, Laurie Cornwell, in a letter to Allison, wrote “This is not a letter of congratulations, but one of thanks and admiration. Thank you for all the work you have done. Thank you for your care and dedication to us all over the last 25 years.”
Current students also had the opportunity to thank Allison and share some cake with her at the end of the day.
